AABC Connects the Community with Local Candidates Ahead of the November 2026 Election

The November 3, 2026, midterm election is fast approaching, and every election is important. At the last board meeting, AABC decided to host a “Meet & Greet the Candidates” event on Sunday, October 18.

The gathering brought together 11 candidates, including all four running for Saratoga city council and others from Saratoga elementary/middle school district, high school district, community college district and sanitary district. There were about thirty residents came and all joined at Growing Tree Learning Center in Saratoga. AABC founder Ms. Teresa Lai was on-site to welcome the candidates and attendees, while AABC board member and former Saratoga Mayor Aileen Kao co-hosted the event.

After one and one half hours discussion, on subjects and issues concerning the well-being of all city residents and school community, everyone felt it was a positive, meaningful, and productive experience. The candidates appreciated the opportunity provided by AABC to connect directly with voters and hear their concerns. Likewise, attendees left with a better understanding of the candidates, their priorities, and the issues facing the community.

The AABC Foundation was pleased to serve as a bridge between candidates and voters, bringing both sides closer together for the benefit of the community. We encourage every eligible voter to cast their ballot on or before Election Day. Every election is an opportunity to shape our community’s future.

Please remember: Our vote is our voice, and every vote counts!

2026 Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. The festival honors Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet and statesman from ancient China. People celebrate by watching dragon boat races, eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves), and participating in various cultural activities. The Dragon Boat Festival symbolizes patriotism, cultural heritage, and the importance of family and community.

AABC is a community organization dedicated to promoting cultural exchange, community engagement, and educational activities. The organization regularly hosts events that bring together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate traditions, share experiences, and strengthen community connections.

This Dragon Boat Festival celebration will be organized by AABC and held at West Valley College in Saratoga, California.
